   WHO AM I

Hi, my name is Savanah Starr Asay and I'm a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Some things about me; I am 19 years old and I am the oldest of four children. I was born in Utah but I'm a true California girl at heart. I am terrified of spiders. I love eating delicious food, drawing and painting, singing (even though I'm usually off key), talking to anyone and everyone that will listen, and spending time with family and friends.

When I was 17 I decided to serve a mission. As many of you know, last year the missionary age had been 21 and was changed to 19 years old for sisters. This meant I only had to wait a year and a half, instead of almost four years. I never thought about serving a mission until then, so I began I consider it. In seminary and other church classes, missionary work became a frequent topic. As time went on the mission seemed more and more like the right choice for me. And then on March 28, 2013, our youth had a temple baptism trip planned. We were asked to fast all that day, so I decided to fast about a mission. We entered the temple and I was given some time to just listen and pray. I recieved my answer: Yes! The mission is what I'm supposed to do.  It was such an incredible experience. And now here I am, going to France!

I'm so excited to be able to teach the wonderful people of France the truth of the gospel. This is a gospel of hope, joy, and love. Our Heavenly Father is real and He loves us all so much. Jesus Christ is our Savior and redeemer. He gave up everything, including His life so we can live again. Trust in Him ,and trust yourself, you are all so incredible. I love you all.

God be with you until we meet again.
